Magnetic Boards

Remember your teacher with chalk at the blackboard? That scene has gone the way of Tyrannasaurus Rex. These days you find long-lasting magnetic boards in schools, colleges, offices, and even homes all over the U.S. - and the rest of the world. No chalk, no erasers. You simply post a magnetic note on a magnetic board. And if you want to change the note, you use a magnetic eraser. Then write another note, using a non-permanent ink pen.
Magnetic Boards v. Chalkboards
Back in history, kids who served detention were assigned to go outside and pound the erasers together to get rid of as much chalk dust as possible. Today's magnetic boards are much healthier - no chalk dust and much easier clean-up. That simplicity makes these note boards very popular in homes & offices, not just in schools. They're great for a business presentation or a shopping list or today's menu.
Many businesses have a magnetic board in almost every office. They come in many sizes, and they make it easy for anyone to quickly make a highlighted presentation to anyone else and get their point across so that it is memorable.

Magnetic Board Advantages
And, of course, they are now widely popular in schools & colleges. When a teacher or professor really wants get their key points across, they can create impact by writing the outline as they go and posting it on the magnetic board. That system also makes for more focused and productive note-taking by the students. Consider just the California Gold Rush of the 1850s ... the year-by-year highlights can easily be posted on a magnetic board, making student retention much easier.
Board Popularity
For those of us who've been around awhile, today's magnetic boards are reminiscent of the Magic Slates we used to have as kids. Every kid loved to write on that slate, and then lift the screen and watch the words erase. Kids today have some of that same fascination with the magnetic boards, which is one reason they're so popular and so effective in either a learning or a play environment. And all the different colored markers are a big upgrade from the old Magic Slate.
